Justin Turner has been the Toronto Blue Jays best and most consistent hitter this season. At 39-years-old he owes his longevity to nutrition and the exclusion of dairy from his diet to stay as one of MLB's elite hitters.

Back in 2018 when he was a a member of the Dodgers, Turner was hit by a pitch that broke his wrist. He was looking at all possibilities to get back to action as soon as possible. His teammate and close friend Chase Utley gave him advice that Turner states transformed his career.


"First thing, he came to me and was like, 'Hey, if you want to get back as soon as possible, you need to stop eating dairy,' 'You already have a ton of inflammation in there. Dairy is just adding more inflammation. You need to get as much out of it as you can.'" - Utley

The Blue Jays designated hitter and 1st Baseman states that the decision to eliminate dairy from his diet is one of the main reasons he's been able to prolong his career to this age. he talks about all the benefits it has given him.

"I feel like I sleep better, I recover better, my knees feel better, I don't ever feel bloated after meals, I think it's just from not putting inflammation into me." - Turner

At 39-years-old, Justin Turner is the oldest position player in MLB and he is excelling and defying odds everyday with his outstanding play.
