Yankees announce starters for game 1 and 2
Yankees manager Aaron Boone spoke to the media today and stated that they would be sending out
Luis Gil to faceoff against Gausman tomorrow afternoon.
Luis Gil is the Yankees GM 1 starter per Aaron Boone.
«Feel like he's ready for this. He's in line for this.»
Boone then stated that
Max Fried would be taking the mound for game 2 of the series on Sunday.
Max Fried will go in Gm 2 for Yankees per Aaron Boone
Game 1 between Gausman and Gil will certainly be an incredible matchup as Gil is coming off a great season with a 3.32 ERA in 57 innings pitched but much like Gausman has struggled in the playoffs.
Gil's career ERA in the playoffs sits at 6.75 in 8 innings pitched with only 4 strikeouts so it will be interesting to see how he does against the Blue Jays tomorrow.
Gausman on the other hand has a slightly better career postseason ERA but it still is not great sitting at 4.91 in 25.2 innings pitched with a total of 30 strikeouts and a 0-2 record.
Coverage for the game begins at 2:30 PM tomorrow followed by the first pitch at 4:08 PM at the Rogers Centre.
