Yariel Rodriguez had his first start with the Toronto Blue Jays' Triple A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons today, and he came through with a phenomenal performance.

Rodriguez is a Cuban-born player who was given a five-year, $32 million contract by the Blue Jays. He has yet to get a start in the Majors, and to help build him up, the Blue Jays sent him to Buffalo to start the season. Well, earlier today, Rodriguez was on the mound against the Worcester Red Sox. In the end, Rodriguez was simply sensational as he pitched four innings, registered six strikeouts, and didn't give up a single hit, according to Sportsnet.
As it turns out, Rodriguez's performance was a sign of things to come for this game. According to Minor League Baseball, the Bisons are still in a heated deadlock with the Worcester Red Sox. The game is tied 0-0 in the bottom of the ninth inning. Needless to say, the fans at the ballpark today aren't being treated to many runs.
"What a start for Yariel Rodrguez!"
Later today, the Toronto Blue Jays will be playing against the Houston Astros. Last night, the Blue Jays ended up losing to the Astros by a score of 10-0. It was a terrible game, and the Jays probably could have used Rodriguez in this one.
Tonight's game will go down in Houston at 8:10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. If you want to watch the game in Canada, you will be able to do so on Sportsnet. Additionally, you can stay tuned to Blue Jays Insider for the latest news and updates from around the baseball world.
