The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking at multiple options for their rotation and Keegan Matheson revealed that could involve a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers

The Blue Jays have made it clear that they are trying to improve their bullpen for the 2026 season which is why they recently cut ties with Nick Sandlin and have been exploring new options.

Keegan Matheson believes the Blue Jays might complete trade with the Brewers

During the World Series, it was clear that the Blue Jays starting rotation had issues when comparing it to the Dodgers rotation which is why they are looking to make some much needed improvements.
Matheson believes that the perfect scenario for the Blue Jays would be for Freddy Peralta who only has one year left on his current contract.
«Looks like the Blue Jays' dream addition in every way,» Matheson said of Peralta's potential fit with the Blue Jays in his piece published on November 19. «With one year left on his deal in Milwaukee, he's the single most attractive pitcher of those realistically available to Toronto via trade.» -Matheson

Jeff Passan revealed that since Brandon Woodruff accepted his qualifying offer, many executives believe that Peralta is available and that the Brewers will be listening to offers.
«Now that Brandon Woodruff accepted a qualifying offer, executives with interest in acquiring Peralta believe it drastically increases the chances of him moving,» -Passan

Going after Peralta would make a lot of sense for the Blue Jays since he would be one of their best pitchers in the rotation and would only cost them $8 million next season.
In 2025, Peralta had a 2.70 ERA in 176.2 innings pitched with 204 strikeouts and a 17-6 record which proves how great he would be for Toronto.
While the Blue Jays would only get Peralta for one year guaranteed, they will still have to make a decent offer due to how skilled the pitcher they are receiving is.
