After the loss to the Rays last night, the Blue Jays announced that they sent pitcher Ryan Borucki to Triple-A after he cleared waivers following being DFA'd by the team a few days ago.
John Schneider speaks on Vladimir Guerrero Jr after loss
Guerrero had a tough time in his series against the Rays as he went 1 for 8 in his last 8 at bats over the last 2 games and 3 hits in his last 13 at bats.
Schneider spoke to the media regarding Guerrero's game last night stating that he had the chance to get them back in the game late but unfortunately failed too but added that Guerrero has that chance every time he is at the plate.
John Schneider on Vladdy's at-bat in the 7th and the #BlueJays' offence:
«I think he kind of just gave that at-bat away against Kelly. Vlad is one swing away. He's one swing away basically all the time ... We let things snowball here a little bit the last two days."
Guerrero was not pleased with that at bat either as he was seen smashing his bat on the ground after striking out against Kevin Kelly.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was visibly frustrated after striking out in the 7th inning against Kevin Kelly.
Been a rough series for him.
Suffice to say: the Jays will need a productive Vladdy to have a prolonged post-season run.
The Blue Jays had an all around tough series against the Rays as they could not figure out how get their offence going but the good news is that they at least walked away from the series 2-2 avoiding a series loss in such a crucial time in the season.
The Blue Jays will now look to switch things up and bounce back against the Kansas City Royals and clinch their playoff spot during the series.
