Blue Jays Max Scherzer speaks on his current injury
Max Scherzer has been having a tough season when it comes to injuries but has been one of the Toronto Blue Jays best pitchers when healthy.
Manager John Schneider announced yesterday that Scherzer was pulled after only 4 innings from his last start due to tightness in his lower back.
Max Scherzer speaks on his back injury
Scherzer was on the Foul Territory podcast this morning speaking on the incredible season that the Blue Jays have been having and also spoke on his current back injury.
According to what Scherzer said, it seems like the injury is nothing too serious as he described it as a minor issue during the interview, adding that it is a scapula issue.
Max Scherzer says his upper scapula tightness is only a minor issue.
After the game, Scherzer also stated that the pain he had is his back was dull and not sharp which is why he is not too concerned about it and believes that it is just a muscular issue that won't keep him off the mound.
This is great news for the Blue Jays as Scherzer has been one of their best pitchers this season and especially lately.
In August, Scherzer has made 5 starts in which he has a 4-1 record to go along with a 2.61 ERA and 1.03 WHIP.

If Scherzer were to go down before playoffs it is good to know that the Blue Jays have plenty of starting pitchers to replace him but that does not seem to be a problem for right now.
