The Toronto Blue Jays announced after yesterday's win that Max Scherzer is dealing with some back tightness after yesterday's win over the Milwaukee Brewers.
There has been some rumors lately regarding a possible extension between Max Scherzer and the Blue Jays but the main concern has been his injury history over the last few seasons.

Scherzer pitched only 4 innings yesterday as he gave up a total of 9 hits and 4 earned runs with only 1 strikeout but still got the win as the Blue Jays took down the Brewers 8-4.
After the game, Schneider stated that Scherzer came out of the game with some lower back tightness but they are hoping an extra day of rest will be all he needs before being good to go against the Yankees.

Scherzer also spoke to reporters regarding the injury and gave some positive news, he stated that it was more of a dull paint instead of a sharp one which seems to be just a muscular issue as he believe it will not be a long term problem.

The good news is that the Blue Jays still have 5 other starting pitchers to pick from if Scherzer's end up going down for a longer period of time.
On the other hand, Scherzer has been one of the Blue Jays best pitchers lately and losing him for a longer period of time could end up being quite costly.
