Blue Jays officially move Eric Lauer to the bullpen
Blue Jays manager John Schneider announced this morning ahead of their game against the Cincinnati Reds that they will be moving to a 5 man rotation moving forward.
According to reports, the Blue Jays will be sending Lauer to the bullpen permanently for the rest of the season as they switch to a 5 man starting rotation.
Blue Jays are transitioning to a five-man rotation going forward. Eric Lauer is moving to the bullpen.
Upcoming scheduled starters:
9/2 @ CIN - Jose Berrios 9/3 @ CIN - Shane Bieber --- 9/5 @ NYY - Kevin Gausman 9/6 @ NYY - Max Scherzer 9/7 @ NYY - Chris Bassitt
This is an interesting decision since Lauer has been great as a starter for the Blue Jays this season as he has a 3.21 ERA in 92.2 innings pitched with a total of 91 strikeouts.
The reason is likely because he is the starting pitcher that was the most recent to come out of the bullpen and is also the pitcher with the least amount of seniority on the rotation.
