The Toronto Blue Jays have been making a ton of moves regarding their coaching staff over the last two days and fans are hoping Don Mattingly is next.
Mattingly has been the Blue Jays bench coach for the past few years and it does not seem like anyone in Toronto is a fan of his, from the players to the fans which is why it does not make sense that he is still around.
The Blue Jays were without Mattingly for a portion of the season this year as he had surgery and took time off to recover which unsurprisingly was when the Blue Jays were playing their best baseball of the season. As soon as Mattingly returned from his surgery, the team began to play bad once again.
Time to get rid of Don Mattingly as well. Jays offence was noticeably better when he was gone for surgery and sucked again after his return. You can't be more definitive than that.
Must read on Blue Jays Insider
The Blue Jays had got rid of Guillermo Martinez the hitting coach followed by a bunch of strange moves such as demoting the video coach Gil Kim but for some reason have yet to do anything about Mattingly.
I have a theory on why he gets to stick around but I can't even say it out loud on this app...should never have even been brought back in the first place
Yeah. I sure noticed that. Matt Hague seems to be the guy most of the young guys listen to. Wonder if Mattingly mutes him?
They also had Semien hitting 45 hr and Hernandez 32. Vladdy hit 48. Gurriel and Grichuk hit 20+. That's about 130 hr lost. That makes a huge difference. Mattingly isn't responsible for that.
While the majority of fans want Mattingly gone, it appears that others believe that he is part of the solution in Toronto despite no proof of success in Toronto.
Now you idiots on Twitter are ripping Don Mattingly... this is the worst of this site... unfiltered uneducated unnecessary nonsense from the great uneducated unwashed masses
