John Schneider explains why Anthony Santander was pulled from the game early
The Blue Jays ended up pulling Santander from the game after a hard run to drive him in from an Ernie Clement single as he was replaced by Myles Straw.
Anthony Santander, scratched from Game 2 due to lower back tightness, scored from second on that Ernie Clement single. Myles Straw takes over from him defensively B5, playing LF with Nathan Lukes sliding over to RF
After the game, manager John Schneider explained that Santander is doing everything he can to fight through the pain and that in a perfect world he would have finished the game but he still isn't 100%.
#BlueJays' John Schneider clarifies Anthony Santander was lifted for defensive purposes.
However, Santander still isn't 100%, per Schneider.
"Tony's grinding... In a perfect world, if he's 100%, he stays in."
Santander did not have the best night at the plate with 1 strikeout and 1 walk but he still managed to help the Blue Jays get a run before being pulled.
This is a bit worrisome as Santander could not finish game 3 due to pain and it looks like there is a chance that he is unable to play in game 4 with how Schneider spoke after the game.
