Reasoning behind Bichette missing from roster announced
The roster was released earlier this morning with what most fans expected from it as there was no real big surprises apart from Scherzer and Bassitt.
#BlueJays announce their ALDS roster.
Not on it: Bo Bichette, Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt
It looks like when it comes to Bichette, his knee is still not in good enough shape to play and the earliest he can now come back is in the American League Championship Series if the Blue Jays get past the Yankees.
Bo Bichette (left knee) is not on the Blue Jays' ALDS roster. He's eligible to return for ALCS if Jays advance.
Bo Bichette (PCL sprain) didn't have enough rehab time to be ready for ALDS, says Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Bichette has yet to resume running and hasn't hit against velocity / movement.
Bichette's teammates will certainly need to pick up the slack when it comes to the offense since missing him in the lineup against a stacked Yankees roster will certainly be felt.
However, Toronto was without Bichette for the majority of Septemeber and still managed to win some very big games which hopefully they can reciprocate this post-season.
The Yankees and Blue Jays kick things off this afternoon at 4:08 PM.
