Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke to the media this afternoon and gave a very rough update on Bo Bichette's return.

Schneider told reporters that the team will be starting Kevin Gausman for game 1 of the playoffs against the New York Yankees during his interview.

John Schneider gives update on Bo Bichette

During the press conference, Schneider spoke on Bichette and gave some details that make it look like he will not be on the ALDS roster.
Schneider stated that he is still day to day and they do not want to waste a roster spot on him to use him as a pinch hitter throughout the series.
John Schneider says Bo Bichette still day-to-day.

"For him to be on (ALDS roster), he'd have to play pretty regularly ... we don't want to deviate too much from what we've been doing. So it's not saving him for a Kirk Gibson at-bat once a game that may not come."
Bichette has been going through his recovery process but has apparently yet to begin running or hitting high velocity pitches according to Schneider.
John Schneider said Bo Bichette is still TBD for the #ALDS.

Bichette still has to run, "see how he feels, and probably hit some velocity.."
This is certainly very bad news for the Blue Jays who could use Bichette is such a big series against a loaded Yankees roster.
With how Schneider addressed reporters about Bichette, it looks like he will not be playing in the ALDS and the team will need to make it to the ALCS to get him back in the lineup.
