The Toronto Blue Jays take on the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight with Max Scherzer on the mound as he will take on former teammate Clayton Kershaw.

Despite some worries that Scherzer's thumb would become an issue once again down the line, it has yet to come up and he has been improving with each start with his last game being his best one yet as a Blue Jay.

Max Scherzer speaks on upcoming matchup with Clayton Kershaw

Scherzer and Kershaw will be facing each other tonight for a legendary match up in which fans will get to see two 3,000+ strikeout pitchers face each other.
Before the game, Scherzer sat down with reporter Hazel Mae about the matchup and rivalry with Kershaw in which he had nothing but good things to say about him stating that he has a ton of respect for Kershaw on and off the field.
Max Scherzer on his head to head matchup v. former Dodgers' teammate Clayton Kershaw:

"It's awesome. This is what you play the game for. Obviously, you want to face the best...I'm only going to say the best things about him, on and off the field. He's a heck of a competitor."
Scherzer is a straight competitor to the bone stating that he always wants to face the best and he believes that Kershaw is one of the best.
While both pitchers are past their prime now, their numbers are still great as Kershaw has a 3.29 ERA in 65.2 innings pitched this season with 42 strikeouts and a 5-2 record.
On the other hand, Scherzer who missed a solid portion of the season has been pitching well since returning as he currently has a 4.39 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 41 innings pitched and a 2-1 record.
Not only will fans get to watch an incredible matchup between two legends tonight but they will also have legendary broadcaster Buck Martinez finally back in the booth with former Blue JayKevin Pillar on Blue Jays Central as well.
The Blue Jays take on the Dodgers tonight at 10:10 PM at Dodgers Stadium.
