Bo Bichette and the Toronto Blue Jays are still is discussions over a new contract but the latest update seems to state that the two might finally get a deal done.
There has been a ton of rumors lately flying around regarding Bichette since the team has yet to make him an offer but it looks like there is still a very good chance he returns to Toronto.
Bo Bichette expected to sign with the Blue Jays
At the end of the season, it looked like having Bichette return to Toronto was going to be an automatic but as time dragged on, fans starting to become more and more doubtful.
MLB insider Jon Heyman touched on the subject recently and stated that he believes that Bichette and the Blue Jays will reach an agreement soon as he does not believe he will sign elsewhere.
While Heyman did acknowledge that the Boston Red Sox have shown interest in Bichette but he still believes that Toronto is the front runners to land him.
"I'm going to say he sticks with Toronto," Heyman said on Tuesday in a video posted on YouTube. "There hasn't been a lot of reporting on that. Certainly, the Red Sox are a possibility if he does not end up with Toronto. To me, it's a marriage that works, so I think Toronto." -Jon Heyman
The main worry for Blue Jays fans is that the team has still yet to make Bichette an offer but at the same time, he has yet to receive an offer from any other team apart from having a meeting with the Red Sox.
Most teams including the Blue Jays seem to be waiting on Kyle Tucker to sign before making Bichette an offer in hopes of the market getting set with that contract but the main team that has something to lose by waiting that long is Toronto.
Hopefully Heyman is right that the Blue Jays are still the top landing spot for Bichette because even if they land Tucker, trying to replace Bichette this winter will certainly not be an easy task.
