Former Toronto Blue Jays prospect Olrevis Martinez signed with Washington Nationals .
When the Blue Jays released Martinez, he was not expected to sign until the off-season but clearly things have changed.

Andrew Golden broke the news of the signing that Martinez has a found a new home in Washington.

The Blue Jays put Martinez cleared waivers on September 16th and was released by the team, his search for a new home then began, and it only took him ten days to sign with the Nationals.
At one point in time Martinez was the second best ranked prospect for the Toronto Blue Jays but his suspension killed his chances with the team.
Prior to his suspension he was having a successful triple-a stint recording a .267/.346/.523 slash line with 17 home runs and 49 RBI in 281 at-bats. But since his return after his PED suspension he has only slashed .176/.288/.348 and struck out 112 times out of 336 at bats.
Martinez will get another chance to reignite his career with the Nationals. His struggles since coming off his suspension, suggest how dependent he was on whatever he was taking to perform. Either that or he has just lost his rhythm and confidence following the time away from the game.
He'll most likely have one final opportunity in Washington to prove he can play the game at the highest level without the help of PED's.
