Former Toronto Blue Jays catcher Ali Sanchez is on the move again as he has been traded from the New York Mets to the Boston Red Sox.

The Mets signed Sanchez to a minor league deal last week in which they sent him to the Syracuse Mets in Triple-A where he played 12 games while only getting 2 hits.

The Red Sox acquired Sanchez for the second time this season today as they traded for him from the Mets in exchange for cash considerations.
The New York Mets traded C Ali Sánchez to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for cash considerations.
Red Sox have announced their September 1st call-ups and they traded for an old friend last night:

Zack Kelly returns to give a boost to the bullpen.

Ali Sanchez was required from the Mets after signing a minor league deal with them last week. DFA'd on 8/18.
While the trade deadline passed over a month ago, since Sanchez was not on the Mets 40 man roster they were allowed to still complete a trade.
The Blue Jays have already called up Sanchez as they have decided to move Marcelo Mayer to 60 day Il clearing up roster space.
To clear space for Ali Sanchez on the 40-man, the Red Sox moved Marcelo Mayer to the 60-day IL.
The interesting part in all of this is that the Mets only ended up with anchez in the first place after the Red Sox DFA'd and released him last week.
