Houston Astros sign Nate Pearson as a starting pitcher

The Astros announced that they agreed to a $1.35 million contract with Pearson pending a physical which he should have no problem passing in the coming day.

According to reports, the Astros plan on using Pearson as a starting pitcher for next season which he has not done since his days in the minors before cracking the Blue Jays lineup in 2020.

Pearson finished the 2025 season with a 9.20 ERA in Chicago in 14.2 innings pitched with 7 strikeouts and an 0-1 record as he spent the majority of the season in Triple-A.
It will be interesting to see if moving him to the starting rotation gets his game back on track.
