Former Toronto Blue Jays beloved closer Jordan Romano has found himself a new deal as he just signed with the Los Angeles Angels.

In the past couple of days Romano is the second former fan favorite Blue Jays to sign a new deal as catcher Danny Jansen also inked his new contract with the Texas Rangers.

Angels sign Jordan Romano

The Angels just announced that they have agreed to a one year deal with Romano which is worth $2 million as he looks to bounce back after a rough 2024 season in Philadelphia.

Right-handed reliever Jordan Romano and the Los Angeles Angels are in agreement on a one-year, $2 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Romano, 32, heads to an Angels team loading up on reclamation projects in hopes of recapturing the form that landed him on two All-Star teams.

Romano joins a few of his former Blue Jays teammates in Yusei Kikuchi who signed there last off-season as a free agent and Alek Manoah who signed his deal with the Angels earlier this month.

The former Blue Jays closer is coming off the worst year of his career in Philadelphia as he finished with a 8.23 ERA in 42.2 innings pitched with only 8 saves and 47 strike outs.

Both Manoah and Romano will look to rebuild towards the pitchers they once were for the Blue Jays which earned them each a couple all-star appearances.

Despite Romano signing for the Angels, Blue Jays fans will be rooting for him to get back to the pitcher he once was.
