Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Bradley Zimmer recently announced that he has decided to retire from professional baseball.
This is the second former Blue Jays to retire in less than a week as pitcher Erik Swanson also announced that he has retired from baseball a few days ago.

After a tough 2025 season in which he was released by the Colorado Rockies in March and was unable to find a new contract, Zimmer officially announced his retirement.

The Blue Jays acquired Zimmer from the Cleveland Guardians back in April 2022 in exchange for Anthony Castro.

The Blue Jays then placed Zimmer on waivers in August in which he was claimed off waivers by the Phillies, who then DFA'd him a couple weeks later and ended up back in Toronto after they claimed him from the Phillies.
The centerfielder's best season of his career came in 2021 with the Guardians when he finished with 8 home runs and 35 RBIs in 99 games.
