The Toronto Blue Jays were without starting pitcher Jose Berrios for their World Series run, where they fell short against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Puerto Rican pitcher was being moved to the bullpen prior to his injury due to the emergence of Trey Yesavage.

Now that he is healthy again, will he be able to improve from the mediocre year he had last season or will the Blue Jays just trade him?

Can Jose Berrios come back stronger for the Blue Jays?

The Sportsnet Staff reported on Berrios' situation not playing all playoffs and now a few months into recovery.
While many reports suggest Berrios is unhappy with the Blue Jays for moving him to the bullpen last season, he is still focused on getting back to full form, and will likely start for the Blue Jays once the season starts.
"The IL move came days after the longtime starter was moved to the bullpen as the Blue Jays worked to align their pitching plans for the playoffs, which Berrios said he wasn't happy about at the time. He ended the year with a 4.17 ERA over 166 innings and 31 appearances."-Sportsnet

Some speculation as to why Berrios didn't play in the playoffs was because of his discontent with not being a starter anymore.
He struggled a lot late into the season, the injury for sure played its part, but with Yesavage making his breakout, there would not have been room for him anyway. But Berrios claims it was the injury that kept him out of action the entire postseason.
"Late in the season, I (couldn't) hold it any more, that feeling I had in my arm," Berrios said of the injury on Tuesday. "So I just put my hands up and tried to see what I got there... It was bicep tendon inflammation, so nothing major. We attacked that real quick, and that's why I didn't pitch in the playoffs."-Sportsnet

Berrios is now five weeks into his offseason training program, and he expects to be ready for spring training with the Blue Jays, hopefully with no nagging injuries, and with no drama.
