Toronto Blue Jays prospect Alan Roden has been unbelievable in Spring Training but according to reports, it is not enough to secure himself a spot on the team for the start of the season.
Blue Jays prospect Alan Roden apparently will not make the Opening Day roster
MLB insider Ben Nicholson-Smith recently spoke on
Roden's hope of making the team for Opening Day and as shocking as it may seem, Roden will likely start the season off in the minors.
Nicholson-Smith stated that despite Roden's performance in the Grapefruit League, the Blue Jays will have him start the season in Triple-A but that he will be the first on their call up list.
Ben Nicholson-Smith was on the JD Bunkis podcast this morning and reiterated that Alan Roden as it stands today is unlikely to crack the Opening Day roster but has positioned himself to be the first position player callup if theres an injury or under performance.
Roden has been putting up amazing numbers in Spring Training and is coming off an incredible season in Triple-A which had most believing that he would surely make the team this season.
Alan Roden slashed .314/.406/.510 in 71 Triple-A games last season 📊

Unfortunately it looks like Roden will have to wait a little longer before making his MLB debut but if he keep producing the way he has, the team will have no choice but to bring him up.
