Andrew Heaney announces retirement following World
Heaney announced this afternoon that after his second stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers he had decided to call it a career and retire, going out on top after a World Series win over theBlue Jays.
Andrew Heaney has announced his retirement after 12 seasons spent with the Marlins, Angels, Yankees, Dodgers, Rangers and Pirates.
Heaney was part of the Rangers' 2023 #WorldSeries winning championship team, pitching to a 1.59 ERA over 5.2 IP in the Fall Classic.
Heaney played a big role in the Texas Rangers 2023 World Series win but did not have a similar role this time around with the Dodgers as he was only on a minor league and saw very little playing time.
In 2025, Heaney played for both the Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates this past season, finishing with a 5.29 ERA in 122 innings pitched and a total of 129 strikeouts.
While these numbers are not incredible and likely played into Heaney taking the decision the hang up his cleats, this is far from a bad final season in the MLB.
Heaney has not announced what he plans on doing now entering retirement but after 12 seasons in the MLB, he will likely enjoy some time off before starting a new chapter.
