As the free agent market has lost a lot of the top free agents pitchers, the Toronto Blue Jays have been linked to former Kansas City Royals pitcher Hunter Harvey.

Many expected the Blue Jays to sign Pete Fairbanks but he ended up signing with the Miami Marlins and staying in the state of Florida for at least one more year.
Marlins, RHP Pete Fairbanks reportedly agree to deal, per multiple reports including @MLBNetwork insider @JonHeyman

The market has seen most of the top end relievers sign this off-season but there is still a few solid options for Toronto including Harvey.
Harvey would be a great fit for the Blue Jays as he is coming back from a major injury as he missed the majority of the 2025 season but has proven that he could be a great reliever with an ERA below 3.00 in 2022 and 2023.
"As a result, assuming his health issues are all behind him now, Harvey is the perfect low-risk, high-reward option for the Blue Jays who could potentially serve as a middle reliever, setup man, or even act as insurance for the closer's position given his previous experience in the role." -Edward Eng

Despite only playing in 12 games last season with 10.2 innings pitched due to a right adductor strain, Harvey still put up some great numbers in a short amount of time with a 0.00 ERA and 11 strikeouts in that time.
This could end up being a great low risk, high reward situation for the Blue Jays who are looking to save some money to spend elsewhere and still need to add to their bullpen.
Once they do decide to add another pitcher to their bullpen, they will be forced to make a move to clear up some space but that might end up being for the better if they sign the right player.
