The Toronto Blue Jays confirmed a few days ago that Max Scherzer would be starting game 4 and the veteran pitcher spoke for the first time today since the decision was made.

The Blue Jays announced following the game 2 loss that Scherzer would be taking the mound for the first time this post-season in Seattle on Thursday night.

Scherzer was left off of the ALDS roster against the New York Yankees but then made the roster for the ALCS against the Mariners as he will finally get to pitch in a game for the first time in a few weeks.
The Blue Jays veteran pitcher stated in an interview that he is excited for game 4 and knows how big of a game this is since he stated that all games in the playoffs are must win games.
«I love it,» he said. «This is what you play for. You want to have the ball in this situation, you want to be pitching in the post-season. Every game in the post-season's a must-win, so when you step on the field in these situations, you've got to bring it - you've got to have your A game.» -Scherzer

Scherzer has quite the post-season resume with a 3.78 ERA in 143 innings pitched over his career in the playoffs to go along with two World Series rings.
While Scherzer might not be the same pitcher he once was, many are hoping that he can tap into his old ways just one last time for the Blue Jays as most do not expect him to make another start even if Toronto moves on.

If things get off to a rocky start for Scherzer tonight, the Blue Jays will certainly be in an interesting situation for game 5 as they are probably expecting to pitch a bullpen game but that will not be easy if they end up using all of their relievers in game 4.
There is a lot of pressure of Scherzer for game 4 but this is something that he has dealt with before and delivered on which is why fans are expecting a lot out of him tonight.
