The Toronto Blue Jays have a lot of big time players to re-sign this off-season such as Shane Bieber who will likely enter free agency.

MLB insider Jeff Passan stated earlier this week that he expects Bieber to decline his player option this off-season and enter free agency.

In a recent report, MLB insider Jon Heyman stated the same as Passan while also adding that the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers could be very interested.
"Despite that, Jon Heyman of the New York Post believes the Blue Jays could lose him in free agency, not even naming them as one of the landing spots for the veteran. He noted, however, that the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers could be potential fits." Conahan

«He's off to a big start as deadline pickup. Red Sox, Angels, Dodgers,» -Heyman

The Blue Jays will definitely be very interested in keeping Bieber since he has been arguably their best pitcher since returning from IL in mid August.
The problem is that if Bieber ends up declining his player option which many believe he will, Toronto will have to compete with big market teams such as Boston and Los Angeles.
Bieber has been surprisingly good since returning from his Tommy John surgery which is why most expect him to decline his player option and enter free agency since his annual salary will likely go up by quite a bit.
So far this season, Bieber has a 4.15 ERA which has only gone above 4.00 because of his last start which did not go as well as the games before while also striking out a total of 21 batters in 17.1 innings pitched and a 2-1 record.
While Bo Bichette is clearly the Blue Jays top priority but Bieber cannot be far behind as he will likely end up being their best pitcher at the end of the season.
Ross Atkins has a lot on his plate this off-season with so many departures happening.
