The Toronto Blue Jays will be looking to make moves through both free agency and trade which is why something could end up getting done with the Kansas City Royals.

The Blue Jays will be parting ways with quite a few players this year due to expiring contracts but they will also look to move others to clear up roster space for their new arrivals.

Blue Jays and Royals could look at blockbuster trade this off-season

The Royals are in need of some help in the outfielder this winter and they will be looking to acquire the help through trade rather than free agency.
According to Jon Morosi on X, the Kansas City Royals are in the market for an outfielder and prefer to acquire one via a trade rather than free agency. -Lazary

According to reports, the Blue Jays could look to move either Davis Schneider or Anthony Santander in a trade in hopes of getting aa solid pitcher in return.
Right off the jump, there are two names that come to mind that the Blue Jays could part with. The first one is Davis Schneider, who has been a great bench bat for the team and can play around the diamond. The second player, and the one that will be the focus of this article, is Anthony Santander, the Blue Jays' big offseason acquisition who spent the majority of the season on the IR. -Lazary

The Blue Jays would hope to get a pitcher like Lucas Erceg in return who would help with their bullpen issues as he finished with a 2.71 ERA in 61.1 innings pitched last season.
But we're going to focus on one main target for the Blue Jays, and that would be Lucas Erceg, a right-handed pitcher who could be used in high-leverage situations to make their bullpen deeper. -Lazary

GM Ross Atkins did state during a recent press conference that they have already began talking to players and teams with all options being on the table as they want to make sure they improve their team for the 2026 season.
While Schneider has become a fan favorite and fans would hate to see him go, Santander on the other hand would certainly not be as missed after the season he had in 2025.
