During an episode of Blair & Barker today, both the analysts pointed out that Kirk has to do a better job behind the plate, stating that he needs to do a better job of calling pitches.
Blair and Barker went into detail during the show about how he did not make the right calls during the Jorge Polanco which led to a big homerun in game 2.
"[Alejandro Kirk] has got to be on point with what he's seeing... and he's been got too many times."

Blair actually doubled down on his comments on Kirk after the show as he replied to the clip n social media stating that Kirk is very good at pitch framing but that pitch calling is a completely different thing.
Pitch framing is one thing; pitch-calling is another .
While Kirk is mostly known for his pitch framing ability, he has never received much criticism on his pitch calling.
However, the Polanco homerun in game 2 was far from Kirk's fault as the Mariners slugger has been hitting extremely well this season and it looks like he simply was fully on top of that pitch.
