The Toronto Blue Jays have 13 days before the trade deadline and are looking at Miami Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara.
Blue Jays looking to trade for Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara
The Blue Jays seem to be headed into the trade deadline with big plans of being extremely aggressive and going after multiple pitchers and even a right handed batter.
According to the latest reports, the Blue Jays are very interested and could be a perfect fit for former Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara.
During the most recent episode of the "Talkin' Baseball" podcast, Jomboy Media's Jake Storiale predicted that the Blue Jays would acquire Miami Marlins ex-Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara, whose struggles this season have been well-documented. -Roberts
Trading for
Alcantara could be a smart move because they could get him for cheaper than usual due to the poor season he is having and they would have him locked down until 2027.
"You're making an investment in Sandy," Storiale said. "This is his first year coming back, you would in theory get him through 2027, and it's a flashy trade." -Storiale
Alcantara has a horrible 7.22 ERA this season after coming back from Tommy John Surgery which is the risky part in all of this because the problems could be that he simply is not the same pitcher anymore.
Due to
Alcantara's past few seasons, the chance is worth taking because if he is able to settle down and get back to where he was, they would be acquiring once of the best pitchers in the MLB.
The Blue Jays clearly have a lot of great options for the trade deadline.
