The Toronto Blue Jays announce new update on outfielder Daulton Varsho
The Toronto Blue Jays announced on veteran outfielder Daulton Varsho as he finally played in his first rehab assignment game with the FCL Blue Jays.
Varsho was supposed to start his rehab assignment on Tuesday but for some reason was not in the lineup which had fans worried that his injury got worse and that he would be missing more time.

In Dunedin this afternoon, Varsho took the field to begin his rehab assignment with the FCL Blue Jays in which things did not go as played for the veteran outfielder as he struggled at the plate.
Varsho ended the day going 0 for 3 at the plate with two groundout but was not in the outfield as he was their designated hitter today.

Paxton Schultz was always on the mound today for his own rehab assignment but had an incredible day as he struck out five batters in 2 innings pitched.

Even though Varsho struggled at the plate today, the real test for his hamstring will be when he gets to start in the outfield and once he actually gets a hit, how he will feel running the bases which is how he injured himself in the first place.
The good news is that with this game, Varsho will likely get in a few more but should be back with the Blue Jays in the next couple of weeks.
