The Toronto Blue Jays are closing in on Chicago White Sox outfielder and World Series champion
The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a right handed bat but their seems to be interest in World Series champion and Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi.
Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins has made it clear that he wants to add a right handed hitter but if they can land a solid left handed hitter like Benintendi, they will likely go for it.

The Blue Jays still have both outfielders Daulton Varsho and Anthony Santander out of the lineup which is why going after another outfielder during this tough times would definitely help.
According to reports, the Blue Jays could close on Benintendi at the trade deadline as he would be a perfect fit and exactly what they need right now.
Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report listed Andrew Benintendi as the Chicago White Sox best trade chip and had the Blue Jays as a top fit for the veteran. -Bishop
The main issue with Benintendi is that he is on a massive contract right now and is still owed $17.1 million per season until 2027 but if the Blue Jays can get the White Sox to retain some of his salary it could definitely be worth it.
"Benintendi is overpaid relative to his five-year, $75 million contract, and he is still on the books in 2026 ($17.1 million) and 2027 ($15.1 million), but he has been a productive hitter, posting a 101 OPS+ with 11 home runs and 35 RBI. The White Sox are willing to pay down his salary to move him," Reuter wrote.
Benintendi has not been off the the greatest start so far this season as he currently has 11 homeruns, 37 RBIs with a .238 batting average and .303 on base percentage but this is also on the White Sox which are at the bottom of the standings.
The interesting part is that Benintendi is also a World Series champion from 2018 with the Boston Red Sox and could be great for the Blue Jays clubhouse heading into the playoffs.
On top of all that, Benintendi has hit over over 20 homeruns multiple times in his career and with a little help from David Popkins, he might be able to bring that back out of him.
