The Toronto Blue Jays are still in need of help when it comes to their pitchers which is why there has been discussions regarding Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Bryan Reynolds going to Toronto.

The Blue Jays are currently one of the best teams in the MLB over the last month but that does not mean they do not have any problems as they have been battling many injuries in their outfield all season long.

The Blue Jays might have found Anthony Santander's replacement in Bryan Reynolds

Insider Bob Nightengale recently announced that the Pirates are currently ready to listen to calls on all players except for Paul Skenes and Oneil Cruz which is where Reynolds comes into the picture.
USA Today's Bob Nightengale recently revealed that the Pirates are listening to offers on all of their players except Paul Skenes and Oneil Cruz. That means Bryan Reynolds could be available, and BALLCAP Sports' Jim Riley tabbed him as a fit for the Blue Jays. -Mohammed

The Blue Jays have had a lot of problems this season with Santander and since he went down with an injury, Toronto has been the best team in baseball which does not seem to be a coincidence.
Even regardless of Santander, the Blue Jays outfield definitely could use some help since George Springer is not getting any younger and a player like Nathan Lukes will never be a permanent solution.
"I think the best thing for them to do is grab a player that helps them this year and beyond," said Riley. "I want multiple years of control. I don't want a rental here, and I'm thinking about the outfield. (George) Springer is a free agent after next year. (Daulton) Varsho is a free agent after next year and keeps getting hurt. (Nathan) Lukes can't play like this forever, (Alan) Roden is still trying to figure it out, and who knows if he ever does, so how about we go grab a player with multiple years of control that (Jeff) Passan has identified as could be available." -Riley

Reynolds would be perfect for the Blue Jays as he is currently making $15 million per year and with the offense he brings to the table it makes sense to trade for him.
"Bryan Reynolds is so much better than what he's been to this point in 2025. I think a change of scenery and a level of competition, going for a wildcard spot. To start playing meaningful games would do him good." -Riley

If the Blue Jays were really to replace Santander, Reynolds would be a great option and even if they weren't bringing him in would only help the team over the next few years since he is only 30 years old.
