The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking at different options that could help them add some offense this season which could involve a trade with the New York Mets for two time all-star.

Earlier this month, there was a proposal that saw the Blue Jays and Mets trading Jose Berrios in exchange for infielder Jeff McNeil which began the rumors between both teams.

Blue Jays could land Jeff McNeil

The Blue Jays are looking to now add some offense after having spent the first two months of the off-season dealing with bringing in new pitchers to add to their starting rotation and bullpen.
A recent trade proposal saw the Blue Jays trading for Jeff McNeil could be great for the Blue Jays as he is an incredibly consistent hitter but will also give manager John Schneider a lot of flexibility on defense as he could play multiple positions.
"More importantly, with his ability to play multiple position in the infield and outfield, it will provide the Blue Jays with that much-needed flexibility that manager John Schneider likes to utilize when deploying his ever-changing lineup on a daily basis. " Edward Eng of Jays Journal said.

Despite a recent drop off in production, McNeil hit a total 12 home runs and 54 RBIs last season with a .243 batting average and .335 on base percentage while also being a few years removed from winning the batting title with a .326.
"However, despite some drop-off in production in recent years, McNeil is still good for 70+ runs scored, double digits in home runs and 60+ RBIs in an average season while hitting close to .280. In fact, he managed to win the league batting title just three seasons ago with a .326 mark." Edwards Eng of Jays Journal said.

This could be an interesting situation for the Blue Jays as McNeil could bring in a lot of versatility and would give them a great backup option for multiple positions.
There is not a ton left of the free agent market that suits the Blue Jays needs which is why a trade for McNeil could make a lot of sense.
