Toronto Blue Jays announce contract update on manager John Schneider

Toronto Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins and president Mark Shapiro held a press conference this afternoon and spoke on John Schneider's future with the team.
The Blue Jays officially made a qualifying offer to Bo Bichette this afternoon but many are expecting him to reject it and enter free agency at 5 PM ET.

While speaking with the media today, Atkins was asked about Schneider contract and his future with the organization.
According to Atkins, the Blue Jays have exercised their 2026 option with the manager as he will be returning next season.

While things are settled for next season, it looks like Atkins will not be stopping their as the two are already looking at a contract extension.
The #BlueJays have picked up John Schneider's contract option for 2026, Atkins said.
"He and I are talking about the potential of that being longer," Atkins added.

Additionally, Shapiro spoke on Schneider and stated that he continues to get better and has put himself in as one of the top managers in the MLB.

While nothing has been confirmed just yet, both the Blue Jays and Schneider seem eager to get a contract extension done as both parties want to remain in a relationship for the foreseeable future.
