The Toronto Blue Jays have yet to announce any signings just yet but have interest among multiple free agents including one of their former outfielders Rob Refsnyder.

While the main concern for this winter is clearly pitchers, the Blue Jays are also looking at multiple options to help their offense in 2026.

Blue Jays could reunite with Rob Refsnyder

The Blue Jays acquired Refsnyder back at the trade deadline in 2017 from the New York Yankees and it ended up being quite the disappointed as he would finished with a .196 batting average with 0 home runs and 0 RBIs in 32 games.
Back in 2017, the Blue Jays acquired Rob Refsnyder from the New York Yankees around the trade deadline to serve as a potential valuable utilityman for the team. However, Refsnyder disappointed while amassing just a .196 average, .496 OPS, with five runs scored, one double and two stolen bases in 32 games played with Toronto. -Eng

The Blue Jays have quite a few options in the outfield as of right now but if they end up moving some players throughout the off-season, Refsnyder could end up being a great option.
For a Blue Jays team that flourishes with quality at-bats and solid defense in the field, Refsnyder certainly fits the bill despite an already-crowded outfield group in Toronto. -Eng

Refsnyder has also seen some time playing the infield during his time in Toronto which also could be an option for him if Toronto loses a player to injury.
While his stats don't jump off the page, Refsnyder would fit right into the Blue Jays game plan especially against left handed hitters in which he has a career .281 batting average with 22 home runs and 95 RBIs.
More importantly, Refsnyder has done well against left-handed pitching for his career, registering a .281 average, .826 OPS with 22 home runs, 95 RBIs and 105 walks in 668 at-bats. -Eng

While this is not the type of deal that gets fans very excited like signing Kyle Tucker, this could be an interesting option for the Blue Jays depth for the 2026 season.
