The Toronto Blue Jays are among the most aggressive teams this off-season and it looks like they are willing to part ways with Joey Loperifdo to get something done.
Blue Jays could trade Joey Loperfido this off-season
A main focus this off-season for the Blue Jays in bringing in new pitchers and it looks like they might be trying to do that via trade which would involve Loperfido.
Loperfido spent most of 2025 stuck behind an outfield logjam in Toronto, appearing in only 41 games," Feinsand wrote. "He produced when given the opportunity - Loperfido hit four homers with 14 RBIs and an .879 OPS in 104 plate appearances - and with five years of club control remaining, the 26-year-old could be part of a deal to land some pitching in Toronto. -Feinsand
Loperfido leaving makes a ton of sense since the Blue Jays are currently looking at other outfielders and already way way too many with Loperfido getting very little playing time as it is which means it will only get worse if they bring in someone else.
Not only do the Blue Jays already have too many outfielders to promise significant playing time to Loperfido, but the possibility remains that Toronto could target big-name free agents Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger. -Roberts
While Loperfido is does not hold a ton of trade value, he is still young and has MLB experience which could interest some teams in his abilities, especially when looking at the numbers he put up in a short time last season.
Loperfido finished with 4 home runs and 14 RBIs in 96 at bats last season for Toronto to go along with a .333 batting average and .396 on base percentage.
