The Toronto Blue Jays have had a busy last couple days in terms of roster moves as Chris Bassitt was placed on IL last night and John Schneider announced more changes for the starting rotation.

The Blue Jays announced ahead of last night's game against the Kansas City Royals that Bassitt was placed on 15 day IL while Mason Fluharty was called up from Triple-A.

Blue Jays will be sticking to a 4-man starting rotation

When the news hit that Bassitt was heading to IL, many thought that Berrios would be coming back to the starting rotation due to the injury but it looks like that won't be the case.
Schneider confirmed yesterday that the Blue Jays will be going with a 4-man starting rotation moving forward as both Eric Lauer and Berrios will stay in the bullpen.
The #BlueJays are keeping a four-man rotation for now and using Monday's off day.

Later next week, they'll figure out the rest.

Berrios and Lauer remain in the bullpen with Bassitt on the IL. Trey Yesavage's starts just became even more important.
The Blue Jays announced that Yesavage will pitch tomorrow against the Royals followed by Kevin Gausman starting off the series against the Boston Red Sox, then Max Scherzer and Shane Bieber.
With Chris Bassitt on IL and Jose Berrios in bullpen, Blue Jays plan to keep remaining starters on regular rest going forward:

9/21 @ KCR - Trey Yesavage
---
9/23 vs BOS - Kevin Gausman
9/24 vs BOS - Max Scherzer
9/25 vs BOS - Shane Bieber
It should be interesting to see how long the Blue Jays stick with this system and when they go back to 5 pitchers in the starting rotation, which one they will chose to come up from the bullpen.
