The Toronto Blue Jays have emerged as a top landing spot for free agent Alex Bregman according to Ken Rosenthal.

There has been some rumors lately that the Blue Jays are interested in Bregman which is no surprise since they were last year as well but he ended up signing with the Red Sox.

Blue Jays talks with Alex Bregman are heating up

Rosenthal announced today that the Blue Jays have been in contact with MLB super agent Scott Boras who represents Bregman.

:
Toronto Blue Jays' «Team officials have been in recent contact with [Alex] Bregman's agent, Scott Boras»

Rosenthal notes Bregman «might be more» then just a potential backup plan «if the Blue Jays did not sign right fielder Kyle Tucker or infielder Bo Bichette.»
While the Blue Jays seem to be starting to show interest in Bregman, it will certainly come at a price due to the multiple teams that are currently interest. Rosenthal added that the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks are all interested as of right now.
" Toronto is among a list of teams eyeing Bregman that includes the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks, among others." Said Ken Rosenthal

While adding Bregman could certainly be a great back up option for the Blue Jays, especially if they end up missing out on both Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette, it also could involve some complications.
The first being that Bregman is looking for a lot of money, most would expect close to $200 million and due to his age that part can become a bit risky as the contract has the chance of not aging well.
Secondly, if the Blue Jays were to bring in Bregman they would need to make room in the outfield, meaning that they would need to shuffle things around and probably move at least one player.
