Yesterday, it was revealed that Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Max Scherzer will be placed on the 60 day IL list as he continues to battle with thumb inflammation.

Scherzer, has only managed play 3 innings for the Blue Jays since the start of the season and has been sidelined with this injury which has frustrated both the organization and the two time World Series champion.

Scherzer continues to rehab his thumb with pitching sesssions

After being transferred on the 60 day I'll list, Scherzer won't be able to return to the lineup at least until May 29th.
General manager Ross Atkins had high hopes for Scherzer as the veteran pitcher was intended to bring stability and veteran leadership to the Blue Jays as they attempt to have a better season then last.
It was reported that the 40-year-old veteran threw at Angel Stadium. Scherzer also informed reporters that he plans to face live hitters soon. Losing Scherzer so early in the season has caused grief for the Blue Jays starting rotation as the group had a strong start in the opening weeks of the season, have looked shaky and have not had the success they had in the opening days.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider has been tinkering with his pitching staff whether it's through the Buffalo Bisons in AAA through call ups, to Ross Atkins signing two veteran pitchers several days ago in Spencer Turnbull and Jose Urena.

Blue Jays on the road for a pair of series

the Blue Jays have had their share of adversity over the past couple of weeks as the team has been inconsistent when it comes to its offence and its pitching staff.
There were moments including the sweep by the Houston Astros were the Blue Jays only managed to hit the ball nine times and only earned three runs in three games.
The team has managed to turn it around slightly as they won four games in a row as of late and hopes to build off of this success as they have a three-game series against the angels and a rematch series in Seattle against the Mariners.
The Blue Jays were defeated 8-3 against the angels in game one and they will be playing at 9:38 PM eastern on May 7th for Game 2.
