The Toronto Blue Jays have had quite a few players leave in free agency including Seranthony Dominguez who they are now looking to replace.

The Blue Jays have been linked to a few relief pitchers as of late which includes former Rays closer Pete Fairbanks.

Blue Jays seem to have found Seranthony Dominguez replacement

Dominguez was acquired by the Blue Jays just before the trade deadline as a short term addition since he was on an expiring contract and as he is now a free agent, the Blue Jays do not plan on bringing him back as it seems.
It is believed that that the Blue Jays seem very interested in Fairbanks more than other relief pitchers that are available.
The Jays, who are in agreement with free-agent right-hander Dylan Cease on a seven-year contract, continue to pursue late-inning relievers, and were in the mix for three who already signed - Helsley, Raisel Iglesias and Phil Maton," Rosenthal wrote. "Fairbanks, as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays, faced the AL East rival Jays often. In 27 career innings against them, he held Toronto hitters to a .130 batting average and .468 OPS -Rosenthal

Dominguez was solid for the Blue Jays especially when it came to throwing heat but lacked in the control department which is one of Fairbanks strengths.
Beyond his long-running domination of Blue Jays hitters, Fairbanks brings something to the mound that Dominguez has long struggled with: control. -Glick

Blue Jays fans recently voiced online that they would not be happy with the team signing Fairbanks but at the same time he would clearly be an improvement over Dominguez when comparing their 2025 seasons.
Hopefully whether it is Fairbanks or someone else, the Blue Jays bring in a pitcher that has a lot of control and command of his pitches since that was a problem with Dominguez.
