Former Texas Rangers relief pitcher Danny Coulombe has been flying under the radar in free agency but could be the perfect fit for the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays have added some solid pieces to their bullpen this off-season but it looks like they are not done yet which is why pitchers like Tommy Nance are at risk of losing their job.

Danny Coulombe could be a great fit for Toronto

Some of the biggest free agent relief pitchers have already signed new deals which means the Blue Jays are running out of options if they still plan on adding to their bullpen for 2026.
Coulombe is one player that has been flying under the radar this winter but could still be a great addition as he is coming off a solid season with the Rangers in which he finished with a 2.30 ERA in 55 games with 2 saves.
"With the uncertainty in their consistency entering the 2026 MLB season, it would make the most sense if the Blue Jays invest in a player who feels like more of sure thing, based on the track record, to act as their primary lefty specialist out of the bullpen." -Edward Eng

The Blue Jays are also desperate to add some left handed pitchers since they have very few of them which is why bringing in a consistent left hander like Coulombe would be great.
"Last season, Brendon Little and Mason Fluharty were the primary left-handed options for the Blue Jays relief corps. However, both pitchers had their ups and downs over the course of the season, with Little excelling at first but sputtered towards the end of the year and into the playoffs, while Fluharty started off strong, then struggled, then bounced back again to play a key role down the stretch and in the postseason." -Eng

Signing Coulombe could be exactly what the Blue Jays need as a final touch to their bullpen for the 2026.
If they do sign Coulombe, the next problem will be figuring out who they move to clear up some roster space.
