Trey Yesavage who has become quite the fan favourite in the Toronto Blue Jays system, made his debut for the Buffalo Bisons and it was a night to forget for the 22 year old.

The Blue Jays announced earlier this week that Yesavage was being promoted to Triple-A and would be making his first start on Thrusday.

Kristina Rutherford of Sportsnet reports however that the young prospect is not rattled by his lacklustre performance.
"Nerves always get the best of me whenever it's my first outing with a new team,» the right-hander said from beneath the brim of a blue Bisons ballcap. «I know I'm the same guy and I'll be better for it next week.»-Rutherford

Fans do not need to worry about the shaky start as it is not the first time it happens for the #26 ranked prospect in baseball.
"While it wasn't ideal, it had to feel familiar: That's exactly how Yesavage fared in his debut starts in high-A and double-A earlier this year, with the bases loaded and no outs in the first inning."-Rutherford

We did see some mental toughness from the potential star as he struck out back to back hitters to close out a difficult first inning. Unfortunately for him the pitch count just got two high early on and his night was cut short.
"But the damage was done. The Blue Jays' 20th overall pick last year, Yesavage fired 35 pitches in the first inning. He registered his third strikeout of the game against the 10th and final batter he faced, and his night ended after 56 pitches. «Through not even two innings, getting up to almost 60 pitches is a lot, so they want to look out for me and look out for my health,» he said. «Just too many long counts - pitch count got up. It gets to a point.»-Rutherford

There is no definitely no reason for panic for Yesavage, and the anticipation will continue to grow for his second start.
