George Springer will be remembered as the guy who sent the Toronto Blue Jays to their first World Series in 30 years, after blasting a game winning home run, but past the game of baseball, Springer recently opened up about his stutter and shows there's nothing to be ashamed of as he continues to inspire everyone watching him.

A professional athlete is usually expected to be well spoken, and Springer shows that a stutter does not get in the way of that.

Somethings are bigger than baseball for George Springer.

Patricia Dolor of Now Toronto spoke on Springer as a person and not just a baseball player, while he will always be remembered for his work on the diamond, he is an advocate for much more.
Maya Chupkov, the founder of Proud Stutter, has dedicated her life to spread the message of understanding stuttering better and she had some big praises for Springer during a recent interview.
"George is so open about his stutter. To have someone like him be so open about stuttering, and he gives back, and he mentors young people, young athletes, who stutter. You could really tell he cares about the community."-Chupkov

Springer doesn't see it as a challenge to overcome, it is just who he is and will always be, it doesn't halt him from doing interviews or press conferences, he treats it as a normal thing encouraging the people listening that it is not a big deal.
"George Springer's message about stuttering that you don't really see in other narratives is that he accepts his stutter and he says that stuttering is OK. The thing that I see a lot happen is people who stutter talk about 'overcoming their stutter.' But through my over 100 interviews with people who stutter from all of the world, some of that is just because people have become better at masking their stutter, because there's no cure for stuttering, so people can get really good at hiding their stutter."-Chupkov

Springer will always be beloved in the city of Toronto, he was arguably their best player this season, and sent them to the World Series for the first time since 1993.
He will always be beloved as person because he stays true to who he is and it's the most respectable thing a person can do.
