The Arizona Fall League had it's annual Fall Stars Game, only one Toronto Blue Jays prospect suited up, pitcher Kai Peterson, who has turned some heads and will definitely get some extra attention in spring training.

Peterson only pitched one inning in the Stars game, but it was more than enough to impress some people but he was not the only Jays prospect to leave an impression as Cutter Coffey also played very well at the AFL.

Kai Peterson shines in fall all star game.

Robbie Zaitchik of Jays Journal reported on the impressive one inning performance for Peterson, he had to go head to head against some prospects who were drafted 19 rounds earlier than him, and he showed there was no difference in skill despite the draft difference.
"He went toe to toe with Esmerlyn Valdez, the Pirates 15th-ranked prospect, who popped up on the second pitch. He then went on to walk the next two batters, before he got the 2024 third overall pick and second best prospect in the Rockies system, Charlie Condon, to ground out into an inning ending double play. He wrapped up one inning of work needing 14 pitches, six of which were strikes."-Zaitchik

The Blue Jays haven't had the best track record drafting early round picks, but they have shown their ability to draft late round picks extremely well. Peterson tends to rely on his sinker and his slider, which go about 91mph and 82mph respectively.
"Back in 2023, Peterson was the final player to be selected by the Blue Jays in the 2023 MLB Draft. He started 16 games earlier that year, owning a 9-2 record with a 3.86 ERA with 127 strikeouts through 84 innings pitched. The southpaw stands 6' 1, 180 pounds and possesses above-average strikeout stuff."-Robbie Zaitchik

In 2025 Peterson recorded a 3.04 ERA in 50 innings of work and a WHIP of 1.351. His team the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League are not performing very well, but it's all about the individual performances at this stage for Peterson. Peterson has shown what he can do against the league's best prospects and he'll definitely get some extra looks at spring training.
