The Toronto Blue Jays faced a heartbreaking defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers in game 7 of the World Series, but on the bright Ernie Clement broke an MLB postseason record and did it using a glove bought on Ebay.
Record postseason hitter Clement uses glove bought on Ebay.
Trevor Beggs of the Daily Hive reported on the uncommon situation regarding Clement's glove, the one he was using broke and he wanted one broken in a certain way, the only way to get that was on Ebay.
"Prior to Game 6 of the World Series, MLB network analyst Kevin Frandsen asked Clement about the glove he was using. Because apparently, he bought the glove on eBay. So, the question is, why is a baseball player making $1.95 million per season buying used gloves on eBay?"-
All pro athletes have their quirks and there was no point in messing with Clement's formula as he broke the record for most hits in a postseason.
Clement almost won the Blue Jays the World Series on a potential hit into the gap, but it was just barely caught by Andy Pages in deep left center.
"It does make you wonder how many other MLBers are purchasing used gloves so that they feel right when going out onto the field. Regardless, you can't blame Clement for knowing what he wants. The 29-year-old was nominated as a Gold Glove finalist for his work as a third baseman for the Blue Jays in 2025."-Beggs
The Toronto Blue Jays may have lost the World Series, but no one will ever forget this team, and Clement was a key contributor their success in the postseason.
It's a run that will not go unnoticed.
