Former Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons seems to have found himself a new job with the Los Angeles Angels.

Gibbons was a coach for the New York Mets over the last few seasons but announced at the end of this year that he had decided to look at new opportunities.

Angels hire John Gibbons

Towards the end of October, the Angels announced that they decided to hire former player Kurt Suzuki instead of Albert Pujols who was rumored to be their next hire.
The Angels are set to hire Kurt Suzuki as next manager per multiple sources including @MLBNetwork's @JonHeyman
Suzuki is set to make his managerial debut this season which is why the Angels have decided to bring in Gibbons who has a ton of experience to help him out as the bench coach.
The Angels are hiring former Blue Jays manager John Gibbons as their bench coach under new manager Kurt Suzuki, per Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. They're also hiring former big league outfielder Adam Eaton as their first base coach, per the report. -Adams

Gibbons will be a great fit for Suzuki since he has a ton of years of experience as a manager and as a bench coach which is the perfect combination for the Angels this year.
Gibbons, 63, has managed 11 seasons in the majors - all with the Blue Jays. That lengthy history of running a dugout and clubhouse will prove valuable for a Suzuki, who's not only a rookie manager but has never even coached prior to his hiring as the Angels' new skipper. -Adams

Fans are a bit surprised that Gibbons was not able to land a manager job as he was rumored to be at the top of the list for a few teams after leaving New York but every team interested ended up going in another direction.
.
Hopefully the Blue Jays beloved former skipper will be able to land a new manager job in the next few years.
