Former Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Max Scherzer is still looking for a contract but after the latest update it looks like he should be able to find himself a deal.
At the beginning of the off-season, Scherzer made it clear in an interview that he would love to return to Toronto but it looks like that might not be possible with all the additions they have made so far.

The off-season is almost at the two month mark and Scherzer has yet to get any real interest which many though could force him into retirement despite wanting to continue playing.
Bleacher Reports Kerry Miller recently put together a list of the most underrated free agents still and Scherzer made the list along with another 8 players which is promising for his future.

While Scherzer is certainly not the pitcher he once was as he will be turning 42 years old this upcoming season, he proved in the World Series with Toronto that he could still be an affective pitcher.
"He's still Max Scherzer, though, and if being just 20 strikeouts behind Walter Johnson for 10th-most of all time-not to mention 45 behind Gaylord Perry for ninth place and within 100 of both Verlander and Don Sutton at Nos. 8 and 7-makes him want to pitch for one more year, well, maybe he can do so at a reasonably high level." -Kerry Miller
Scherzer had the worst season of his career during the regular season in 2025 as he finished with a 5.19 ERA and a 5-5 record to go along with quite a few injury issues but his performance in the playoffs is what proved he can still play.
There has been no update on if he was has been in communication with any team as of right now but this list is certain a step in the right direction.
