The Blue Jays are having some serious issues with their bullpen this season
The current bullpen issues where on full display last night when Toronto went into the bottom of the 8th inning with a 3-2 lead but then the bullpen ended up costing them the game.
So, instead of what would've felt like an important win on Tuesday night at the Big A, the Jays turned a disastrous eighth inning into a hot mess. What followed was a gruesome 8-3 loss to a team that had won just twice in its previous 13 starts. -Longley
The Blue Jays even brought out Jeff Hoffman and Yimi Garcia who both surprisingly struggled as well which resulted in manager John Schneider using 6 different relief pitchers in two innings.
Not only did the top two arms of the Jays bullpen come up short, manager John Schneider was forced to use six different relievers, a less than ideal development for the first of six on the road. -Longley
This game was a complete disaster for the Blue Jays and showed how if Hoffman and Garcia are not at the top of their game, the Blue Jays really do not have many other options.
Only having two pitchers to rely on in the bullpen is a serious problem for Toronto because if those two pitchers have an off night like they did yesterday, it could result in a automatic loss.
The Blue Jays need to find a way to get more reliable arms in the bullpen because it does not look too good right now.
